Braille & Tactile
Braille has been developed into a large set of alphabets that includes almost every language in the world having its own form. When creating braille and tactile signage, we always use the relevant braille language to help the visually impaired to read signs with touch.
The Disability Discriminations Act states that “…physical changes and adjustments to buildings that allow access and information, should be made to all buildings by 2004…”, which is why we think it is so important to create signage using braille wherever possible.
The Joint Mobility Unit, together with the RNIB, have recommended that all public buildings and service providers, including hotels, public transport and municipal buildings should use Braille and tactile signage for their projects. This can vastly improve how inclusive your building or business is.
Here at Photocast we are always available to provide advice as well as our artwork service, which can help to produce quality internal and external braille signs and tactile signage.
