Daily Express Building Manchester
Last year we were approached by Ben Adams Architects to work with them on the recent refurbishment of the iconic, art deco Daily Express Building in Manchester.
Our brief was to create and manufacture all the internal directional signage as well as a unique frieze in the reception area and capture the character of the building and its historic uses.
The frieze consists of sixty-two broadsheet panels and stimulate original inked letterpress printing plates and depict major world events such as:
- The Moon Landing
- VE Day
- The Assassination of JFK
- The Queens Jubilee
- Freedom of Nelson Mandela
- England’s 1966 World Cup Win
The panels were made using our deep zinc etching process and hand finished to create an attractive worn inked effect
More examples of our work can be found in our photo gallery.
